The peculiarity of this 15-year-old whisky is the result of a carefully selected maturation process in which part of the content is aged for a limited period in different French oak barrels so that the taste of the French barrels does not spoil the final result. The Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to use French oak in production. A technique that has since been copied by numerous other distilleries. The use of French oak also increases the intensity of the whisky, resulting in a fuller and creamier aftertaste.
